Accountant - General Accounts

Assist the Manager / Unit Head - Accounts in timely and accurate execution of the daily accounting processes of KFAS, such as accounts payable and receivables, financial closing & consolidations, maintaining chart of accounts, processing payroll, reconciliations, maintaining records of petty cash and controlling fixed assets.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:


  1. Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, processes and standards pertaining to finance and accounts processing
  2. Assist in the preparation of periodic financial reports (balance sheets, profit and loss statements), as per the instructions from the Unit Head General Accounts
  3. Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
  4. Prepare and reconcile sub ledger reports on a monthly basis in addition to creating the final trial balance
  5. Update and maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts to reflect the transactional activities of KFAS
  6. Manage invoicing and the collection of receivables and payments; verify all vendor invoices and prepare for approval
  7. Handle the registration and maintenance of KFAS’ fixed assets; lead the valuation of fixed assets, adjusting for depreciation
  8. Handle cash flow and petty cash; ensure that all transactions are recorded clearly
  9. Ensure proper recording and accuracy of all transactions related to payroll (payroll generation, accounts receivable and accounts payable) ensuring compliance with payroll processes; review and validate payroll summary reports through coordination with the relevant HR members
  10. Support the Accounts Assistants in maintaining files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with the filing policies and procedures
  11. Assist internal and external auditors in ensuring that audits are completed timely by the year-end through collaborating sufficiently and providing the necessary data.

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in accounting
