Innovate, Compete and Thrive

Innovation has always been a fundamental pillar in the establishment, progress, survival and success of businesses. Yet questions remain: what is innovation? How can innovation be managed? What are innovation sources? How do companies use innovation to build new business models and launch new products and services to the market? What is the role of innovation in enhancing business competition? Are partnerships a possible means to motivate innovation?

This program brings forward and explains innovation management concepts and means of producing highly creative ideas that have already been proven successful in major international enterprises. The program also tackles the means and strategies of selecting and developing ideas and turning them into creative products and novel business that have can be launched in the market. Such innovation can be utilized to reinforce competitive edges in the market, or within the organization itself to enhance productivity.

The program introduces and provides training across the following areas:

  • Using major innovation management concepts and terminology
  • Defining the types of innovation and creativity, and understanding the relation between strategy and types of innovation
  • Explaining how innovation can be mobilized as a core part of an organization’s business
  • Identifying the required partnerships and systems for supporting and facilitating innovation processes both inside and outside the organization
  • Understanding innovation cycle and stages

Lecturer:

Dr. Sami Mahroum is a Senior Lecturer, and the Founding Director of INSEAD Innovation & Policy Initiative. As an innovation researcher, Dr. Mahroum teaches executive education programs in innovation and policy fields at INSEAD. Before joining INSEAD, Dr. Mahroum was chief analyst at the OECD in Paris, and Head of Regional and International Innovation Research at Nesta, London. Over the course of his career, he has worked as a researcher, a policy analyst and an advisor in innovation policies across half a dozen countries.

Conditions and Requirements:

  • The applicant should be an employee of the private sector
  • An updated resume reflecting the current position and job responsibilities of the applicant should be submitted
  • The applicant should sign the terms and conditions document for the program
  • Applicants should have at least five years of professional experience

Selection and Application Deadline:

Candidates’ applications shall be anonymously reviewed by the Review and Admission Committee, any late or non-compliant applications will be automatically disqualified.

Deadline for receiving applications is April 15, 2018.

All applicants will be notified with admission or rejection in the period from April 22 to May 3, 2018.
