and Workshops
Based on KFAS objectives to
transfer science and technology to develop Kuwait's
scientific and technical potentials and to emphasize its
scientific role at the international level, KFAS
organizes and supports scientific conferences and
workshops, organizes in-house training programs, funds
various local and international training programs and
provides grants to individuals.
Scientific Missions:
This program offers fellowship
grants for Kuwaiti scholars, scientists and specialists
with accepted papers to have an opportunity to
participate in international or regional conferences, in
order to exchange their expertise and gain exposure to
the latest scientific technologies.
Grants are also awarded to Non-Kuwaitis under
certain terms and conditions.

Individual
Grants:
Individual grants is one of
the programs offered by KFAS to benefit its
companies directly. This program is accomplished by
providing grants for specific requests from its
affiliated companies to attend conferences, training
programs, and exhibitions abroad and locally. The
international grants are awarded only to Kuwaitis.

Programs
with Others:
In collaboration with
private and government organizations KFAS conducts
several other programs that contributes to the
enhancement of the public scientific culture, such as:

The summer
training course held at Kuwait Institute of
Scientific Research (KISR) every year. KFAS
sponsors this program together with the Ministry
of Education,
Kuwait University and Public Authority for
Applied Education and Training (PAAET) for
students from secondary and university level.

Summer training course on computer applications
at Kuwait Information Technology Society for
students at the preparatory level preparing and
training them in the latest computer
applications.
London
International Youth Science Forum (LIYSF):
Since
1985 the Scientific Culture division has sponsored over
200 academically outstanding students from government
and private universities in Kuwait to attend this
prestigious two week annual event in London. Students
from over fifty countries attend this forum where they
can exchange their views with others of their own age
and educational level, attend scientific lectures by
world experts and seminars on a wide variety of topics.
Students will also get the opportunity to visit well
known institutions in the field of science and
engineering in the United Kingdom, gaining first hand
knowledge on the scientific aspect and management of
these organizations. Recreational activities are also
organized by LIYSF so the participant absorbs an
atmosphere of cultural and scientific ambience during
the two week forum. The LIYSF website also provides

includes stories and pictures of former participants.
