With INNOV8, KFAS inspires and encourages employees towards excellence

Nov 23, 2021

The Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) organized an internal employee competition entitled INNOV8 – which was launched for KFAS employees to share their creative solutions and implement best practices that would be of benefit to KFAS internally. The internal competition launched in at the beginning of September and this week with a prize ceremony hosted by KFAS director General, Dr. Khaled al Fadhel. It was the first time that KFAS employees were able to gather and connect in the post-pandemic era. At the ceremony, the top contributions were awarded with certificates and trophies; Dr Khaled engaged the winners with an opportunity to describe their proposals to KFAS leadership and their colleagues.

For the INNOV8 competition, KFAS employees were empowered to submit their insights, as KFAS values employee contributions are valuable and important in their workplace. The top two winning concepts were Zero Plastic Water bottles submitted by Dana Alkandari who is a Program Officer within the Research Directorate, and the Projects Management & Activities Tracking System via the IT Tech team consisting of Abdulmohsen Al Sulaimi, Shehab Al Tohami, Twintu Kumar, Batool Hasan, and Abdullah Al Shaikh.

Dr Khaled al Fadhel shared that, “By giving employees an opportunity to identify and improve best practises, KFAS is very happily ensuring that all employees have an opportunity to have their voice heard, encourage work-place collaboration and revitalize the workplace. Employees are more invested when they understand the organization’s mission and values, and have their efforts recognized.”. Dr Khaled pointed out that there would be more opportunities in the future for KFAs employees to collaborate, inspire and elevate the impact of KFAS in Kuwait.
