Feb 28, 2018

News Detail

The Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Science (KFAS) announced its latest executive education programs titled “Fast Track Growth: Leading Innovation, Accelerating Growth,” in collaboration with the IE Business School based in Madrid. The program will take place from the 11th to the 13th of March, 2018 in Kuwait.

This comes as part of a series of programs that KFAS launched in the fourth quarter of last year to help build capacity in the local private sector.

The latest program that will take place next month focuses on finding new opportunities for business growth, developing “game changer” strategies for businesses, and driving innovation in the market while being more effective leaders in driving this change. The program will be facilitated by Peter Fisk, an expert and professor of Strategy, Innovation and Marketing at IE Business School in Madrid.

The program benefits senior executives, business owners, heads of strategy, mid to upper level management working in areas related to marketing, or strategy and business development professionals working in the private sector in Kuwait.

“Our mission and role revolves around promoting innovation, science, and technology in Kuwait and transforming the country into a knowledge based economy, and the executive education programs allow us to do just that,” said Deputy Director General of KFAS Dr. Salem Al Hajraf, adding “building capacity in the local private sector is part of our job in making innovation and knowledge available to the communities that will drive and lead Kuwait’s future growth by helping them tackle the challenges they face at the very core”.

KFAS seeks to expand its activities this year to add more training programs in collaboration with major universities and institutes worldwide.

“We would like to have more involvement from the private sector to help them benefit from the programs. The more they get involved, the more the benefit the local economy gains in human capital and in business innovation,” said Dr. Bassam AlFeeli, the Innovation and Enterprise Director.

AlFeeli added that KFAS is dedicated to supporting Kuwait’s private sector by investing in capacity building programs with collaborations with some of the best business schools in the world. He concluded, “these training opportunities create a wide network that supports productive relationships across companies and industries. Our job is to keep introducing the latest business tools and concepts that help the local private sector and the economy as a whole.

The highly acclaimed programs are directed toward managers and leaders in the local private sector, exposing them to the latest innovations and ideas that would help them grow their businesses.

The first batch of world-class programs was done in collaboration with some of the world's leading academic institutions with three programs that focused on critical innovation challenges and opportunities. KFAS teamed up with INSEAD Business School in bringing its knowledge in the concept of “blue oceans” and uncontested market spaces to Kuwaiti business leaders, as well as Babson College’s Executive Education program to deliver a course on entrepreneurial leadership, while The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania ran a course on managing innovation and turning it into a driver for growth that helped many local businesses gain insight and knowledge of international best practices.

KFAS offers three types of programs to the private sector. Abroad Executive Education Programs are select sponsored programs that offer significant leadership and business development opportunities and are available for national executives working in private sector shareholding companies.

The second initiative is the Local Executive Education Programs. They take place in Kuwait and are done in collaboration with elite business schools from all over the world, bringing the latest trends in leadership and innovation to Kuwait. The programs are open to all contributing companies and all nationalities.

The third is the Open Enrolment Programs, which offer training courses that help develop and hone skills necessary for leadership and business success. They are open to all private sector companies and all nationalities.
